ALLEPPO (Yerkir Media)—Another Armenian soldier has fallen victim to the unrest in Syria. Levon Kuyoumjian, 20, was killed in clashes on the Syrian-Turkish border at the at Bab al-Hawa checkpoint.
Earlier this month an Armenian church and school, operating under the auspices of the Prelacy of Syria, were attacked in the Syrian city of Homs by members of the Syrian opposition.
The school and the school, which are located in Hamidia district, mainly populated by Arab Christians will be used by them as a hospital and convalescence center.
In March, an Armenian woman, Araxie Bedrosian was one of the victims when 200 kilograms of explosives were placed in a car in the Sulaymaniyeh neighborhood in Aleppo, near a Latin church and two primary schools. It is in an area heavily populated by Christians, including many Armenians.
on February 10, two suicide car bombs targeting Syrian regional military and security headquarters shook Aleppo, claiming 28 victims, among them army soldier Viken Hairabedian.
The situation is Syria is still tense. UN and Arab League Envoy Kofi Annan stated after his meeting with Bashar al-Assad in Syria that the conflict has reached a “tripping point.” In his interview to journalists Annan said his peace plan was not being implemented “as it must be”.
The latest skirmishes in the city of Houla, near Homs, claimed 108 lives.
A massacre is not a skirimish. Can you prove the opposition killed your boy? either he is a Syrian or he is not and many Syrians are dying unnecessarily because of this evil regime. This kind of journalism leaves much to be desired.

This entire uprising is the work of the Muslim Brotherhood and those supporting them are the West and Israel. This is a fatal mistake. Former Israeli spy , Victor Ostrovsky discusses how the Israelis used divide and conquer tactics to divide Arabs by pitting Sunni against Shite. This is what is happening in Syria. This is what happened in Iraq and in Lebanon. Homs ,Houla and Hama and all other cities involved in the fighting are near the Turkish, Jordanian or Lebanese border where these Sunni terrorists can cross over and kill people. The Houla Massacre has the trade mark signs of the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood dres in military uniforms and are active in Iraq and had death squads executing civilians as a method of terrorizing them. It is sad that Barak Hussein Obama met with the Muslim Brotherhood in the White House. Didn’t Washington learn from it’s mistakes of supporting the Muslim extremists and 9/11.By the way, Al Quaida is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Syria needs to build a wall at it’s border with Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan. You can clearly see that all the problems are occurring in Syrian cities that are close to the border and what is where the Islamist terrorists are entering Syria from Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey and committing their acts of terrorism. A wall is the only way to keep out these terrorists.The terrorists kill civilians and the Syrian Army attacks back and innocent civillians get killed. It is well known that Jordan and the Lebanese phalangists were behind the 1982 Syrian uprisings.

Why don’t Armenians living in Arab countries just emigrate out to other places where they really belong. The only Armenian presence in the Middle East that is justifiable to protect and secure is Jerusalem for historical and religious reasons. Arab countries were helpful to refugee Armenians after the genocide, but times have changed, we already thanked those who have long passed. Now they are just Muslim extremists who hate Christians, they don’t care if you are Armenian in their eyes everyone is an infidel now. What are we protecting or gaining by staying with these people, and fighting in their army??
What the F@@@ are you talking about. Much Christian blood has been spilled in the Near East, those lands are Christian lands. Armenians have been in Lebanon, Syria, jordan, Iraq, Palestine since King Dikran. Those lands are as much our lands as the native peoples. Many Arab Syrians in northern Syria are Armenians in origin that have converted to Islam. Many Maronites in Lebanon case in point President Franjieh, President Sarkis, President Lahoud, are Armenians. The solution is not to emigrate, the solution is to stay put and fight for what is yours. What makes you think that by coming to the states they are going to live here in peace, keep their identity for eternity?

For someone who participated in the civil war in Lebanon, with the Phalangists and then the Lebanese Forces it was my duty and honor to serve with hundreds of Armenians and by our efforts we all secured the Christian population from being massacred. Many of those Armenians ended up fighting to liberate Artsakh.
Like my grandfather told me, the turks have always told Europeans and the Americans, get these Armenians across the Atlantic as far away as you can from my borders.
FYI, my uncle who was a general in the Syrian Army used to tell me, many of the soldiers stationed on the border with RoT, are Armenians and Kurds.

This entire Arab Spring was a covert campaign designed by the Clinton administration but was never put into practice because of the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal. You can read about this if you do an internet search for the term” The New Middle East” which is a plan to cause civil wars in Arab countries along religious and sectarian lines and lead to the breakup of Syria into smaller countries such as existed during French colonial rule such as an Alawite republic of Syria and a Sunni Republic of Syria and other similar things. The West tried to divide and conquer Lebanon but were unsuccessful. They tried it in Iraq and I suspect that Iraqi Kurdistan will eventually separate from the rest of Iraq. Hopefully this will lead to an uprising among Turkish Kurds.
