YEREVAN (ArmInfo)—The possible cooperation of Walt Disney and DreamWorks with the ReAnimania International Animation Film Festival in Yerevan has been discussed during the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, Director of ReAnimania Vrej Kassouny told ArmInfo on Wednesday.
He said that ReAnimania has cooperated with Annecy for several years already. This year Kassouny met with the directors of a number of foreign festivals. He said that festivals from Eastern Europe are delighted with ReAnimania as though being far from Europe, it still features a large interesting program.
“Some of the films that were first shown at ReAnimania were later awarded in Annecy or even nominated for Oscar. Among the examples are Otto Guerra’s ‘Til Sbornia Do Us Part’ and Bill Plympton’s ‘Cheatin’,’ presented in Annecy this year,” Kassouny said.
He said that this year he also met with representatives of Walt Disney and DreamWorks. “We discussed ideas concerning our possible cooperation,” Kassouny said.
This year’s ReAnimania will take place Oct 25-31. This year’s Annecy took place June 9-14.
