
STEPANAKERT—Artsakh Defense Army serviceman Mher Arzumanyan, born in 1998, was killed by Azerbaijani fire on the morning of April 28 of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic and Azerbaijani border (Line of Contact). The incident took place in a Defense Army protection unit in the southern direction of Artsakh.
The night of April 27-28, Azerbaijani forces violated the ceasefire agreement 35 times, firing more than 440 shots in the direction of the Artsakh army.
Investigation into details regarding Rafaelyan’s death has been launched by the Artsakh Defense Ministry.
The Defense Ministry offered condolences to Arzumanyan’s family, friends, and fellow servicemen, while President of Artsakh Bako Sahakian posthumously awarded Arzumanyan the “For Service in Battle” medal.
Arzumanyan’s death comes four days after serviceman Narek Harutyunyan, born in 1997, was killed by Azerbaijani fire. The Azerbaijani army was unrestrained in their offensive, firing more than 800 shots toward Armenian soldiers.
