BUENOS AIRES (Agencia Prensa Armenia)—During a press conference at the G20 summit in Argentina, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denied the Armenian Genocide in response to a question from a journalist of Armenian origin.
When asked about the rights of minorities in Turkey, the journalist added: “I am one of the descendants of the families that suffered the Armenian Genocide.”
“Turkey cannot be blamed of having committed a genocide against the Armenians,” said Erdogan. “On the question of genocide, please let’s leave the discussions to the Historians and let’s listen to what the Historians have to say. This is not a part of our history and I can very confidently say that and we are ready to get involved in any discussion whatsoever,” added Erdogan.
“Do you know how many Armenians live in my country right now? Hundreds of thousands. About 30,000 of them are citizens and the rest are undocumented. They have fled Armenia only to settle in Turkey. And we allow them to do so. A total of 100,000 Armenians live in our country. They were never discriminated on the basis of citizenship, we have never deported any Armenians on those grounds. We are very humane in our conduct and we will keep on doing so,” said the Turkish President.
“The response is cynical for several reasons, including the validity of Article 301 of the Turkish Criminal Code, which under the figure of ‘denigrating Turkish identity’ has allowed prosecuting and imprisoning intellectuals, including Historians, for speaking explicitly about the Armenian Genocide,” replied the Armenian National Committee of South America.
“Turkey blocked unilaterally its border with Armenia in support of Azerbaijan for the Nagorno-Karabakh war, which makes the argument of the welcome it gives to Armenian residents in their country very unconvincing,” they added.
Before the arrival of the Turkish President to Argentina, the Armenian community held a demonstration in front of the residence of the Turkish Ambassador on Monday, November 26. “Erdogan is the head of a state that maintains a state policy of denial and non-recognition of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by the Turkish State between 1915 and 1923,” denounced the Armenian community.
More than 2 million Armenians lived in Turkey before 1900.
According to Erdogan, today there are a total of 100,000, so it’s an acknowledgment that “disappeared” millions. But above all, an acknowledgment of the insistence of Turkey’s negationist policy.

The Armenian journalist should have very aggressively interrupted this Turkish terrorist and reminded him that is NOT his country and that IF only 30,000 native Armenians, living in their Turkish-occupied ancestral homeland, are citizens and the “rest” are not HOW do you explain the discrepancy between that number and the 2,000,000 plus indigenous Armenians who lived in their Armenian provinces in occupied Western Armenia up until 1915 within the artificial boundaries of genocidal Turkish empire established by sheep-herding illiterate blood-thirsty Central Asian nomads?

He can’t and won’t answer the actual question he is asked because if he did he would incriminate himself and his genocidal nation and so instead he starts babbling about what he feels comfortable about that not only won’t land him in hot water but that he thinks he can manipulate his audience in his favor based on events that have nothing to do with the question being asked. He knows the Armenian Genocide is a historical fact. He said so himself back in April,23rd of 2014 on the eve of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide but he tried to con his audience into believing that this was not something that was unique to the native Armenians in order to evade justice and to overshadow the 100th anniversary of this heinous crime. The Armenian journalists and reporters must be smarter than this charlatan and stop asking questions that have been asked hundreds of times and instead start asking questions that use this Turkish terrorist’s words against himself. Article 301 of Turkish Criminal Code, aka “Insulting Turkishness”, is one that was enacted by him which created an atmosphere of hate that resulted in the murder of Hrant Dink and all Dink wanted to do was to open a dialogue between the two nations about the Armenian Genocide. He is responsible for Dink’s murder. I have no doubt he was behind Dink’s murder. Another example is when he calls for a committee of “historians” to study this case and come to conclusions which he claims he will accept WHILE he claims the Armenian Genocide never happened and it is a lie. How can he call for the formation of a committee to study this case and claim it is a lie even before such a committee is formed? Not to mention all the purges he must have ordered to clean up their archives of incriminating evidence on the Armenian Genocide that several Turkish historians have already uncovered and have written about them. His outright lies and arguments to back them up make NO sense whatsoever just like he taking credit for native Armenians and their descendants living in illegally- established genocidal fascist Turkey, on Armenian homeland, makes no sense. The question should not be how many thousand Armenians live in their Turkish-occupied homeland but how many million Turks live in occupied Western Armenia in absence of 1,500,000 indigenous Armenians they murdered!
