Armenia’s military has signed new contracts to acquire new assault weapons and other arms in its continued effort to modernize the military, said Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan who signed the agreements during the Army 2019 International Exhibition in Moscow.
Tonoyan told Armenia’s state television channel that the Armenian Air Force was currently in the process of advancing its equipment, for which he was having relevant meetings with executives of a number of companies during the exhibition.
“These agreements are very important for ensuring the continuity of the development of our military,” Tonoyan said.
He said the new arms would be supplied to Armenia either by the end of 2019 or in the beginning of 2020. Tonoyan said they continue negotiations on buying new arms.
Tonoyan also commented on recent remarks made by Azerbaijan’s defense minister, who recently questioned the capabilities of Armenia’s Air Force
“If they were to pay more attention they would notice that the same multi-functional military aviation is also used in the Himalayas, in higher altitudes,” said Tonoyan.
Armenia itself is participating in the Army 2019 military expo in Moscow, where delegations from more thatn 100 countries are in attendance.

@Joe: Armenia can joint venture with Iran, they will be more than happy to finance the project, if a country want to be respected they should go nuclear.
That organization already exists.It is called the ARF. And it has a vast membership in the US, Lebanon and elsewhere. But it takes more than will, to defeat an enemy like Turkey. Without the material support of some superpower like, the US, Russia or China our efforts would be in vain, our sacrifices pointless. Armenia has always played the superpowers nimbly and with patience. Turkey will mess up again, and maybe next time Russia will teach them a lesson, or the US will declare the Wilsonian Armenia in force and order Turkey through the UN to vacate it. You never know. Whatever happens, we need to encourage the idea that Turkey is too big, too unpredictable, too genocidal, and it should be broken up into its ethnic components.
I have been saying this for years now yet our diaspora leaders are still fighting their own internal pathetic battles.
1) Unite as one Diaspora security development unit for Armenia
2) Appoint a global legal/consulting firm to keep all in check
3) Launch an Armenian development fund with 1 member each from the political parties and equal number from the consulting firm with the deciding vote with the Law firm
4) Via social media & a well designed website begin asking for direct debits from Credit Cards or Bank accounts from $1 to $100 on weekly basis. Be transparent and honest. I will be the first to sign with $50 a week
5) Have a well documented charter and directly invest for the benefit of Armenia in all areas. Never give funds directly to the Armenian Government nor engage any firms with any relations with Armenian ministers, most are corrupt as we know
6) watch how withing 5 years and smart investments of funds the funds becoming over a billion dollars and more
7) Stop acting like beggars asking for handouts of $40M for Artsakh or Armenia.
NO ONE cares about Armenia, we have no real resources and ZERO oil.
We must plan for the worst as we can always be sold out by the regional powers AGAIN
And stop bickering in local Diaspora communities about childish issues, unite with one voice
