Azerbaijani forces fired at positions in Armenia’s northeast region killing one soldier and wounding two others, according to reports by Armenia’s Defense Ministry, which, along with the foreign ministry sharply condemned Azerbaijan for its blatant breach of the ceasefire agreement.
Arman Bulghadaryan, a 24-year-old soldier of the Armenian Armed Forces was killed Sunday after Azerbaijani snipers fired at the northeastern section of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, reported the defense ministry spokesperson Artrusn Hovhannisyan, who also confirmed that two soldiers were injured during the attack.
“Today solder of the Armenian Armed Forces Arman Bulghadaryan, born in 1995, was killed by Azerbaijani shooting in the north-eastern section of the Armenian border. We extend condolences to the soldier’s relatives,” Hovhannisyan said in a Facebook post.
Armenia’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the most recent attack by Azerbaijan on Armenia proper.
“On July 27 and 28, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan undertook provocative actions in the North-Eastern section of the state border of the Republic of Armenia with the involvement of snipers, which resulted in the death of the serviceman of the Armed Forces of Armenia Arman Bulghadaryan and wounding of two servicemen,” said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan.
“Intentional and blatant violations of the ceasefire by Azerbaijan is in contradiction to the commitments on adhering to and strengthening the ceasefire, which most recently have also been reconfirmed on the level of the leaders of the two countries during the Vienna summit on March 29,” said Naghdalyan.
“These violations also defy the statement issued by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs following the meeting between the [Armenian and Azerbaijani] Foreign Ministers on June 20, wherein they called on parties to strictly observe the ceasefire and to refrain from any provocative action, including the use of snipers, along the line of contact and the international border,” added Naghdalyan.
“We strongly condemn these provocations which claimed human lives and are accompanied by Azerbaijan’s rejection to undertake confidence and security building measures aimed at observing and strengthening the ceasefire. These actions create a risk of escalation the full responsibility of which lies on the Azerbaijani side,” explained Naghdalyan.
“The provocative action of the Azerbaijani side once again proves that the adversary continues to openly violate the ceasefire regime and escalate the situation in the border zone in a targeted manner. The Azerbaijani side should bear the whole responsibility for the escalation of the situation,” said Armenia’s Defense Ministry in a statement.
The only language that the enemy understands is disproportionate force. For one Armenian soldier killed or wounded, the Armenian answer should be at least ten or more Azeri soldiers killed.
Onnik agree with you, but I think orders come from Russia, Azeri are the tool. Russia likes to divide to conquer
For one Armenian soldier killed the Armenian response should be not just killing a mere ten of their soldiers but rather a hundred of them and razing to the ground an entire Azerbaijani village. This is the behavior of a defeated and humiliated army that to this day is unable to digest the devastating beating it received a quarter century ago. Lack of action and response on our part is inexcusable. We must make this racist enemy bleed to death and I have no doubt we have the capability and the appetite to do so. It is just that we must commit to it and be consistent. The enemy should have no breathing ground and the retaliatory force used must be overwhelming and utterly devastating. We must not have any mercy on them.
There is NO such thing as Azerbaijani territory. This is an artificial state, a gas station disguised as a country, invented on occupied Armenian territories and for the first time in history in 1918 by criminal Soviet and genocidal Turkish pimps. The LIBERATED territories are not and have never been part of this artificial state. Just because the Soviets snatched away centuries old Armenian territories and handed them over to pseudo-Turkish artificial Azerbaijani-SSR does not make these territories Azerbaijani. The fact that so-called Azerbaijanis, former homeless Caucasian Muslim Tatars, lived and planted roots on occupied Armenian territories for 70 years, from 1921 to 1991, does not mean they have any rights to Armenian territories.
This was territorial and cultural terrorism against the indigenous Armenians and artificial Azerbaijan deserved what it got over a quarter century ago. There is more occupied Armenian territory to be liberated including the ancient Armenian province of Nakh-Ijevan emptied of all native Armenians, by racist anti-Armenian policies, and still occupied by artificial Azerbaijan and today being used as training ground for state sponsored terrorism against Armenians in collaboration with Central Asian genocidal Turkish thieves. Peace will come to this region only when this artificial state is eliminated and occupied territories returned to their native inhabitants, Armenians and others.
I pray to God to give enough strength to his family members to bear this profound grief & may the departed Hero’s soul rest in peace.

Well said Ishkhan….
The OSCE doesn’t seem to say much does it? That is a clear indication that it doesn’t care. Words are useless anyway. Therefore its perfectly appropriate to liquidate a few of theirs in response as there should ALWAYS be a response and consequence for the criminal despot regime’s behavior. In fact why not be proactive and constantly attempt to pick off their soldiers as weekly adventure? The Azeri’s do it all the time why not Armenia. BTW A NON response is a sure guarantee of more Armenian soldiers being picked off, one by one.
…..and what did we do? We just sat down, complained and then mourned the now killed soldier. No retaliation, nothing.
When we abstain from retaliating, the enemy gets bolder and arrogant.
Time is ripe for a strong response.
