Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday met with Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau chairman Hagop Der Khachadourian and ARF Supreme Council of Armenia chairman Ishkhan Saghatelyan. Armenia’s High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan also attended the meeting.
According to the press services of the ARF and the prime minister’s office, the sides exchanged views on regional issues and national concerns.
This is a positive step and good sign that Prime Minister Pashinyan meets with ARF leaders. We all must work together to be able to stand against our enemies.
VERY IMPORTANT MEETING INDEED.
The business of politics is a revolving machinery. It changes and adjusts itself. Loyalties and support to leaders change, depending on circumstances. I hope, a seasoned politician like Hagop Der Khachadourian will take note and start working with Pashinyan, instead of aligning with the past failed leadership.. The mistakes made supporting and collaborating with corrupt Kocjharyan and Sargsyan should serve as a lesson. Most importantly, however, the ARF leadership should listen to the voices of the people and fell their heartbeat. If such changes take place, perhaps ARF will receive enough votes from citizens of Armenia to qualify for party status in the National Assembly. As it is often said…we live and learn. And most certainly, I hope ARF will learn from past mistakes.
The ARF has and will always continue to serve the interests of the Armenian people and Armenian nation, regardless of who’s in charge of the government. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan must stop dividing the people and causing further polarization. He needs to immediately start working on tangible change in the country. From what we observe, nothing has really changed. In fact, the recent verified reports that Pashiniyan’s government is looting the government budget to the tune of tens of millions of dollars and giving outrageous bonuses to his high level staff, including Zareh Sinanyan, should be condemned and stopped immediately and the money should be returned to the government budget and be spent to increase the dismal pensions of the elderly and other needy in the country.
