Western Prelate Bishop Torkom Donoyan on Tuesday reported that in a short period of time, the Western Prelacy has been able to raise $201,726 in its ongoing efforts to provide assistance to the Armenians in Lebanon.
In a post on the Western Prelacy’s Facebook page, Prelate Donoyan commended the efforts and participation of dedicated members of the clergy and the community, who heeded an appeal by the Western Prelacy, in line with a decision by His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, and in the month of August were able to raise the much-needed funds for the Prelacy’s Lebanon relief effort.
“Thank you for your heartfelt support. We pray for your health and congratulate you on displaying human kindness in line with our Christian values,” Bishop Donoyan said in his message on Tuesday.
The Prelate underscored that the fundraising effort will be ongoing and called on parishioners and community members to “become a link in this golden chain” and send their donations to the Western Prelacy either in person or via mail to 6252 Honolulu Ave., La Crescenta CA 91214.
