YEREVAN (Respublica Armenia) — Legislation on the prevention of AIDS–which corresponds to international norms–was accepted by Armenia’s National Assembly this week.
The new law will play a significant role in the prevention of a possible AIDS epidemic in Armenia and will provide social services to those infected–said Levon Zohrabian–head of the Center for Control and Prevention of AIDS.
According to Zohrabian–the next step is the creation of a National Commission for the Prevention of AIDS–which will involve representatives of various ministries–departmen’s and international organizations.
