YEREVAN (Itar-Tass) — NATO’s flag flew high above a government guest house–known as Reception House–Tuesday in anticipation of NATO Secretary-General Javier Solana’s arrival.
Solana told Itar-Tass at the Zvartnots airport that he had traveled to Armenia to discuss the current situation in the country and the evolution of security measures in countries friendly to NATO.
Commenting on his visit to Georgia–Solana described his meeting with Georgian top officials as "positive."
Later that day–Solana met with Levon Ter-Petrosyan and other high-level government officials.
Solana visited a number of museums in Yerevan on Wednesday. He was also expected to lecture at the American University of Armenia.
He will conclude his Caucasus trip with a visit to Baku.
