YEREVAN (Azg) — The water level of Lake Sevan continues to drop due to power production–the head of the Department for Preservation of Water Resources of Armenia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection said.
Nearly 81 million cubic meters of water were drained for the production of electricity last year– and as a result–the water level of the lake dropped by another six cubic meters. It was expected that the high level of rainfall would improve the situation–but–unfortunately–the lack of rainfall last year contributed to the problem.
