YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan) — A meeting of representatives of Armenia’s mass media–at the request of Prime Minister Armen Sarkissian and chaired by Armenia’s Foreign Minister Alexander Arzoumanian– took place on Feb. 14 to discuss the Prime Minister’s Media Council.
The participants approved the roster of 15 representatives of state-run and independent media–among them Azg–Molorak–Golos Armenii and Iravounk newspapers–Armenpress and Noyan Tapan news agencies–AR independent broadcasting company–the Journalists’ Union–the Yerevan Press Club– the Presidential Press Secretary–the Prime Minister’s advisor and the head of the National Assembly’s press service.
Privatization and Foreign Investment Minister Norayr Khachatrian announced that the building which belonged to the Periodika publication will be denationalized and leased to various groups. According to Khachatrian–a decision has not been made on the denationalization of the building where Armenpress–Noyan Tapan and Snark news agencies are currently located.
