YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan) — A model of ancient alphabets which allows for the examination of dominant philosophical ideologies typical of a particular nation during the creation of the national alphabets was created by Armenian scientist Samvel Babayan.
Babayan closely examined the Armenian–Greek–Georgian and Sinay alphabets and revealed a phenomena in accordance with which letters of an alphabet may be represented in the form of a system of elemen’s. This revelation is much like Mendeleyev’s scheme–where all chemical elemen’s are organized into groups depending on the weight of their atom. The letters of the alphabet are grouped depending on the presence of certain elemen’s.
When the Armenian alphabet is given philosophical symbols–the letters correspond to philosophical views of Mashtots’ epoch–while the mathematical combination of the ancient Greek alphabet corresponds to the philosophical principles of ancient Greeks.
Having studied the ancient Sinay alphabet–oldest known in the world (17th century B.C.)– Babayan uncovered the basic principles of a complex ideological concept of the Giksos people–which created the Sinay alphabet. Thus–Babayan’s methodology enabled him to understand those cultures of which no historical evidence has been found.
Babayan said that Armenia has a vast collection of material on several types of written language which have not yet been thoroughly examined.
