YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The foreign policy of Karabakh–irrespective of the change of authorities–will not alter–National Democratic Union leader Vazgen Manoukian said.
He voiced confidence that any leadership of Karabakh expresses the will of its people. As for the further cooperation of NDU and Karabakh authorities–Manoukian’s position is the following" if there is a need to cooperate with other parties or Karabakh leadership–NDU is always ready for cooperation.
"Regardless of different approaches to different issues of foreign policy and internal policy on the part of different people-authorities–opposition–politicians and public figures–all our people share one and the same viewpoint in one thing–that is the aspirations of the Karabakh people must be realized. And of course–any political figure and any party will contribute to the solution of that task."
Speaking of the year that passed after the presidential polls in Armenia–Manoukian asserted that despite the superficial and cosmetic changes–more serious processes have happened. Among them the latest decisions to cancel pensions and benefits for specific population groups–rise in rates for electricity–transition to absolutely paid health care led to deepening of social problems.
"At the same time–during all this year no step was made toward industrialization of the country–toward opening of new working places.
And again–the only hope is that thousands of our compatriots will receive some money from their relatives and friends from abroad–and it is that money the state is trying to seize and assign to the budget," Manoukian said.
