YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Armenian and Georgian electrical lines were connected with each other on Nov. 1–and the two countries are now ready to exchange electrical power with each other.
During a visit to Georgia–the Armenian official delegation led by Prime Minister Robert Kocharian–held talks with the appropriate agencies in Georgia to finalize the agreemen’s.
Georgia informed the Armenian delegation that it was ready to begin buying electricity from Armenia–at a rate of $0.03 per kilowatt. The primary details were talked about and time frame of two weeks was set for the initial delivery of electricity.
Georgia is currently suffering from a serious shortage of power. In Tbilisi a daily allotment of three hours of electricity is available to residents–while rural areas receive less.
