YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Holy Echmiadzin will see a broadened assembly of the Supreme Ecclesiastic Council May 13-15 to be chaired by Catholicos Karekin I jointly with Patriarch of Jerusalem Archbishop Torgom Manoogian and Patriarch of the Armenia’s of Turkey Archbishop Mesrop Mutafian.
The meetings will hear a report on the activities of the Holy See of St. Echmiadzin from August 1998 to March 1999. Also discussed will be the Church Statutes–the upcoming visit of the Pope to Armenia–preparations for the Armenia-Diaspora forum and celebrations of the 17th centenary of the proclamation of Christianity in Armenia.
