YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Artsakh branch of the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) is working on opening a kindergarten for 50 preschool children in the Karintak village of the Shushi region. This will be the fifth kindergarten to be opened in Nagorno-Karabakh under the direct sponsorship of the ARS.
The ARS has also initiated the "Sirun Optic" program which provides families of killed or missing soldiers–disabled persons–as well as single pensioners with 30 eyeglasses monthly.
The ARS also plans to realize a trustee program for Artsakh’s orphans–according to which–3,700 children under the age of 18 will receive approximately $120.
