GLENDALE–More than 10,000 community members flocked to the Glendale Civic Auditorium over the weekend for an Armenian cultural festival organized by the Armenian Relief Society Western Regional Executive in celebration of the organization’s 92nd anniversary.
The festival was officially kicked off Saturday with welcoming remarks by ARS chairwoman Sonia Peltekian–following whose presentation–Mistress of Ceremonies and Horizon evening news anchor Arshalous Darbinian ran the event–which included traditional Armenian food–crafts and cultural presentations.
The program also included performances by the ARS Saturday School students’ choir and the Hamazkayin dance troupes.
The highlight of the festival was the staging of a traditional Armenian wedding and presentation of Armenian costumes.
