YEREVAN (Yerkir)–ARF Bureau member Mario Nalbandian participated in the Eastern European socialist and social democratic party conference held June 14-15 in Sofia–Bulgaria. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) is the only Armenian organization that is a member of Socialist International–the largest international socialist organization in the world.
While in Sofia–Nalbandian met with the Armenian Ambassador to Bulgaria Sevda Sevan; ARF Bulgaria Central Committee Representative Sahag Chakrian–and the editor of the Vahan weekly Harry Nikoghosian were present at the meeting.
"Bulgaria was always an important strategic location for the ARF," the ambassador recalled. He spoke about preparatory work undertaken for Armenian President Robert Kocharian’s visit to Bulgaria in September–noting that days of Armenian culture will be organized in the framework of the visit.
