BAKU (Armenpress)–Azerbaijan’s defense minister Safar Abiyev reported that the Azeri military prevented an attack by Armenian troops on one of the frontier villages of Nakhijevan. According to Abiyev’s report–one Azeri soldier was killed–and another one injured in the skirmish that lasted for more than an hour; "Armenia’s withdrew–suffering big losses," detailed the report. The Azeri defense ministry reported that the Azeri position in the Fizuli region was also bombed. The report stated that beginning in early July–the Armenian military has violated the cease-fire agreement seven times and that six Azerbaijani soldiers have been killed.
The Armenian defense ministry–however–challenged the validity the information in the report. On July 14–reports detailed that an Azeri military group attacked Karabagh defense forces at the southeastern line of contact between Mountainous Karabagh Republic (MKR) and Azerbaijan. One Azeri soldier was killed–while MKR soldiers foiled the attack.
