GLENDALE–The Homenetmen Glendale Ararat Chapter–the largest in the Western United States–marked 25 years of providing Armenian youth the opportunity to participate in scouting and athletic activities with a celebration that took place on Sunday–July 27 at Glendale High School.
More than 3,000 people came to not only enjoy the athletic events–various activities–and even a stroll down memory lane by way of a historical photo exhibit–but to also reunite with old friends and fellow Ararat Homenetmen members.
"We wanted to create an environment in which the membership would see each other and create momentum for the anniversary gala in October," anniversary celebration organizer Armen Abrahamian–told the Glendale News-Press.
They succeeded.
The upcoming "Homenetmen News" in the Saturday–August 2 issue of Asbarez will detail Ararat chapter’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
