BAKU (APA)—A delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) was in Armenia Monday visiting two Azeri POWs, monitoring their detention conditions, reported the Azeri Press Agency.
Gulnaz Guliyeva, a spokesperson for the Azeri representation at the ICRC, told APA that the two POWs, Rafik Hasanov and Anar Hajiyev, had one-on-one meetings with the Red Cross delegation. Hasanov was given a letter sent by his family.
Hasanov, 19, reportedly crossed into Armenia from the westernmost section of its long and heavily militarized border with Azerbaijan on October 8, 2008. Anar Hajiyev, 19, was drafted from Goranboy was captured by Armenian forces on May 10.
