BURBANK, CA—The Armenian National Committee of Burbank (ANC Burbank) applauded the recent city commission appointments made by the Burbank City Council. Among the appointees are Burbank residents and Armenian American community activists, Armond Aghakhanian and Ara Boyajian.
Aghakhanian was appointed to a 4-year term on the Community Development Goals Committee. He has held several key political posts throughout the state of California for the past 10 years and brings a breadth of experience to the position.
Established in 1974, the Community Development Goals Committee serves as a liaison between Burbank residents and the Community Development Department on matters relevant to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Boyajian, a longtime Burbank resident, has volunteered thousands of hours for many different community causes. He looks forward to the opportunity to contribute to the Civic Pride Committee’s efforts to celebrate the Burbank’s accomplishments and diversity.
The ANC Burbank congratulates all the new appointees and wishes them the best of luck as they serve the Burbank community.
The Armenian National Committee of Burbank advances the social, economic, cultural, and political rights of the area’s Armenian American community and promotes increased Armenian American civic participation at the grassroots and public policy levels.

I wish to thank Annie P. Hovanessian, Esq., for serving in her second four year term on the Burbank Community Development Goals Committee. Annie was instrumental in arguing for ARS funding when it first occurred a few years ago. Her prior armenian descent predecessor had failed to achieve any funding for the ARS after his about eight (8) years on the committee.
I also wish to thank Razmik Hovanessian for dutifully serving in his second four year term on the Burbank Landlord Tenant Commission. His dedication has benefited our commuinty.
