YEREVAN (ArmRadio)—The co-chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group met with President Serzh Sarkisian and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian Monday as they continued their tour of the region in hopes of finalizing a peace deal on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Sarkisian welcomed the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Bernard Fassier (France), Robert Bradtke (US) and Igor Popov (Russia), as well as the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Andrzej Kasprzyk and discussed issues related to the current stage of the Karabakh resolution negotiations, reported the president’s press office.
During the meeting with Nalbandian the co-chairmen briefed the foreign minister about meetings held earlier with officials in Baku.
During the meeting, Nalbandian discussed last week’s assertions by official Baku urging Armenia to move forward with a peace treaty draft stage without approving the so-called “Basic Principles.”
Nalbandian said that the Baku proposal “contradicts the logic of the negotiation process and the position of the mediators.”
