YEREVAN—Join Birthright Armenia on April 1 as they launch the #AG Campaign — a global grassroots effort to raise awareness about the Armenian Genocide.
At the heart of this campaign are two large, black, prominent letters, an “A” and a “G,” that get placed on the back of the hands in full view. Birthright Armenia has purchased and succeeded in distributing over 125,000 temporary tattoos to over 15 countries already, with our alumni, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of genocide survivors, acting as distribution centers for Armenian communities around the world.
Armenians here in Armenia and around the globe are invited to join this movement by taking a picture of themselves with the tattoos showing, and posting it across all social media channels with the three designated campaign hashtags #AG, #AG1915, and #AG100. Participants should also consider changing their profile picture to their new #AG photo, and including a 15-second sound-bite along with their self-portrait about why this campaign was important to join.
Thus far, in addition to the Republic of Armenia we have 14 other countries participating with active distribution centers in place. Organizations, businesses, schools, and university groups interested in participating in the #AG campaign, can contact us info@birthrightarmenia.am for tattoos or you can use a black marker for the same effect.
#AG is going to be a powerful grassroots campaign via social media, one which has a strong potential to trend, especially since we’ll all be launching the campaign on April 1st across the world. Organizations, churches, schools, youth groups and businesses in the US, Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Kuwait, Iran, Turkey and Armenia are armed and ready with their tattoos and lists of friends, neighbors, co-workers, politicians, professors they will be asking to join by doing the same.
