CAONGA PARK, Calif.—The AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School marked another significant milestone in the construction of the Collaborative Learning Center with a special Beam Signing Ceremony, bringing together administration, current and past board members, building committee, students, faculty, community leaders, donors, and distinguished guests to leave their mark on the future of the school.
Students from the graduating classes of kindergarten, 5th, 8th, 11th, and 12th grades had the unique opportunity to sign one of the final structural beams before it was placed into position. While this beam will not be visible by sight, its presence will serve as a lasting symbol of the students’ connection to the legacy and continued growth of MDS.
Head of School, David Ghoogasian shared a sweet moment with the 5th graders as they signed the beam, telling them, “Imagine this, you’re going to sign this and nobody is ever going to see it. It’s going to be in the walls. But one day, you will grow up and your children will come here, and you will say, my name is on the beam of this building”.
The Beam Signing Ceremony represents not only steady progress in the construction of the CLC but also the spirit of unity and commitment that defines the MDS community. As the school looks forward to the completion of the CLC, this milestone serves as a reminder of the collective efforts that continue to shape the next chapter in education at MDS.
The Collaborative Learning Center, set to open in the near future, will provide students with cutting-edge learning spaces along with a state-of-the-art library fostering collaboration, innovation, and academic excellence. With each milestone, the vision for this transformative project becomes more tangible, ensuring that future generations of students will benefit from an enriched educational experience.
