TEHRAN (Noyan Tapan)–In an interview with Armenian journalists–Azeri President Gaidar Aliyev made a plea with the Armenian people–in the process praising Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s recent defeatist statemen’s in the media–once again.
Aliyev said–"I’m coming to the Armenian people to unite the healthy forces in Armenia and Azerbaijan–in order to create peace." He further said–that he was already the head of such healthy and smart forces in Azerbaijan–and he saw Ter-Petrosyan equally as smart and thoughtful–for making his stance known to the world via the press.
He went on to say–"I have done a lot for the advancement of the Karabakh region. I have done a lot for the Armenian and Azeri people." He said that he enjoys great respect in Armenia and Karabakh–because he has always worked toward the resolution ofsuch small disputes and minute problems.
Turning back to Ter-Petrosyan–Aliyev said that the Armenian official’s approach to the peace process is extremely logical and sound.
"We don’t want anything from Armenia. Nothing. We have agreed to give autonomy to Karabakh–what else do you people want?" declared the Azeri president.
