
CRESCENTA VALLEY—The Armenian National Committee of America, Crescenta Valley Chapter has announced its support of Alex Keledjian and Kevork Kurdoghlian, both young candidates running for PACCD and LCUSD, respectively. Both candidates are running in their own districts in anticipation of bringing fresh perspective and change through their sought positions.
“We are proud to have young, intelligent, devoted and enthusiastic individuals running for election in dedication of advancing causes, that pertain to community members, through their unique viewpoints as students involved and experienced within the community” said Armine Sherikian, ANCA-CV Chairperson.
Alex Keledjian is running for the Pasadena Area Community College District Board of Trustees (PACCD) for Area 1, which includes the City of La Cañada Flintridge, West Pasadena and the West Altadena. His goals for Pasadena City College are to increase communication, strengthen fiscal responsibility, and improve outreach to the community and affiliated school districts.

Keledjian, throughout his involvement in the community, has served as the former student board member of LCUSD Board of Education and as a youth commissioner on the La Cañada Flintridge Youth Council, committed to benefiting the youth of La Cañada. Currently, he is a student at PCC, where he previously served as a board member of the Finance and Lobby Committee. Through his positions he has established relations with his community members and leaders and is prepared to serve his community through the current position he seeks.
Kevork Kurdoghlian is running for La Cañada Unified School District Governing Board. Kurdoghlian has also been a youth commissioner on the La Cañada Flintridge Youth Council. In addition, he was the Student Body President at La Cañada High. Currently, as a student at GCC and as an older brother to two younger siblings who attend local public schools in La Cañada, Kurdoghlian is dedicated to his community in pursuit of raising awareness and enhancing the quality of education for all.
As an active community volunteer, he has establishing good working relationships with students, teachers and community leaders. His goal is to increase transparency in the District by televising school board meetings and introducing dual immersion language programs in elementary schools and interdisciplinary courses at high schools to prepare student for the globalized world.
