KOTAYK — The construction of a half-built house and a renovation of another family house was completed at the end of 2015 by the housing project financed by VivaCell-MTS. VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian and Fuller Center for Housing Armenia President Ashot Yeghiazaryan visited Mayakovsky community to see the improved housing conditions of the two families and share with them their happiness.
For 13 years Arthur Antonyan’s family has lived in his parents’ house – 11 people in three rooms. For five years the house of a neighbor, who had left for a job abroad, served as a shelter for the family. For several years, the Antonyans had been working on the construction of their house, but were unable to complete the works.
“It was a dream for me to have a home. My children grew up moving from one house to another not having their own. Nothing can be compared with the feeling of having your own home. Our happiness and gratitude is endless,” said the mother of the family, Naira Antonyan.
“In terms of the outcome all the measures undertaken within this project are equally efficient: the end result is a housewarming. Yet, the hardships and the deprivations that last for years for these families are different. It is a major achievement to see people in despair and uncertainty cheered by the positive attitudes. The more kindness and positive energy we give away to families like these, the more committed they get in terms of building their homes, raising decent children, and being useful to the country,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.
“Today we are the witness of another success. Another Armenian family now stands on a solid ground. As a result of the partnership with VivaCell-MTS the housing problem of 93 families has been solved becoming a cornerstone of new opportunities and successes for those families,” said “Fuller Center for Housing Armenia” President Ashot Yeghiazaryan.
Since 2007, VivaCell-MTS has contributed AMD 228.3 million for the basic reconstruction or renovation of houses thus improving the life quality of 480 people with social needs in 10 regions of the country, including 31 villages, of which 10 are borderland villages.
