The seventy-sixth Diocesan Assembly of the Armenian Church of North America Western Diocese at its May 3 meeting–by majority of votes elected His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian–the former Primate of the Canadian Diocese–the eighth (8th) Primate of the Armenian Church of North America Western Diocese.
His Holiness Karekin II–Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenia’s officially confirmed the election of Archbishop Derderian as the Primate of the Armenian Church of North America Western Diocese on May 5.
