YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–At the invitation of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation–a delegation of the Socialist Party of Georgia led by Leader of the Party–member of the Georgian Parliament Vakhtang Rcheuishvili visited Yerevan. On March 13–Rcheuishvili and the representative of the ARF Executive Council of Armenia’signed an agreement on cooperation.
By signing the document the sides pledged to promote the strengthening and further development of the socialist movement in the region and the allied relations between Armenia and Georgia as well as the ties between the two countries’ political parties.
The Socialist Party of Georgia–which was founded in 1995–has 25,000 members. The party has two representatives in the Georgian Parliament. During the latest presidential election in Georgia the party endorsed Edward Shevarnadze.
