Sargsyan congratulated Medvedev on successfully hosting the Winter Olympics in Sochi and the achievements of the Russian athletes.
The prime ministers of the two countries discussed a number of issues regarding Armenian-Russian strategic relations and the implementation of joint programs in the fields of energy, industry, and infrastructure.
The two welcomed the growing commodity trade between the two countries and expressed confidence that it will gain new momentum after Armenia joins the Customs Union and the Common Economic Area.
Tigran Sargsyan and Dmitry Medvedev also praised what they called smooth implementation of measures for Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union. The Russian Prime Minister said Armenia’s participation in the “Eurasian integration processes” will give new impetus to the development and reinforcement of economic cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, the prime ministers discussed modernizing Armenia’s nuclear power plant and the raising its security level, as well as a wide range of issues related to industrial and humanitarian cooperation.
