LOS ANGELES–Eighth grade students at the Armenian day schools in California are now preparing to take part in the Twelfth Annual Armenian History Timeline Quiz Bowl. The competition will be held on Sunday, April 10, in Deukmejian Hall at the Ararat Home of Los Angeles in Mission Hills.
The students compete by answering a host of questions on Armenian history and culture based on the book Armenian History Timeline by Hagop and Marilyn Arshagouni. In previous years, the students excited the many spectators with the breadth of their knowledge and the enthusiasm of their participation.
The teams compete for monetary prizes, which go to the scholarship funds of their schools. These awards are made possible by the generous support of the Ararat Home.
The Quiz Bowl will start promptly at 1 pm and will conclude at approximately 3:30 p.m. The community is invited to attend and spend an exhilarating afternoon witnessing the skillful performances of these eighth-graders and marveling at the extent of their understanding of the achievements of their forefathers.
Admission is free.
