YEREVAN (Yerkir)–Having defeated Moldova’s women’s chess team in round four of the European chess championships underway in Plovdiv–Bulgaria–the Armenian women’s team is in the lead with 6.5 points. In the round against Moldova–Armenia’s GM Elina Danielian defeated GM Svetlana Petrenko–and GM Lilit Mkrtchian defeated GM Naira Aghababian.
The Russian and Bulgarian teams hold the second and third positions respectively. The Armenian players will face-off with Bulgaria next.
The Armenian women defeated the Israelis team by 1.5 –0.5 in round three.
