YEREVAN—The Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises of Armenia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Oxford Alumni Business Club of Armenia to collaborate on fostering international educational expertise, promoting innovation, and advancing leadership for the 2024 World Congress on Innovation and Technology (WCIT2024/DigiTec).
The memorandum was signed by UATE President Alexander Yesayan and Aleksander Shaghikyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Oxford Alumni Business Club of Armenia.
“We are thrilled to have this opportunity. Partnering with such an internationally recognized event as WCIT is a great honor. We are confident that this collaboration will enhance the event visibility and foster active engagement from the international information and business sectors,” said Alexander Shaghikyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Oxford Alumni Business Club of Armenia.

Under the terms of the memorandum, the collaboration will focus on advancing the development of cutting-edge technologies in Armenia, delivering educational programs and training initiatives, and facilitating mutual expert support.
“We highly value this collaboration, as it will stimulate international cooperation between Oxford Alumni Business Clubs operating in other countries. Such partnerships also contribute to increasing international media interest in the Armenian tech sector and foster regular global coverage of its developments,” said Alexandr Yesayan Director of the UATE.
WCIT2024/DigiTec will be held from October 4 to 7 in Yerevan, at the Karen Demirtchian Complex. The Congress will emphasize the importance of applied sciences, investment, and technological presence in various regions and economies, centered around the headline “THE POWER OF MIND: AI Beyond Limits, Within Ethics.”
Over four days, the event will feature a comprehensive high-level program that includes B2B meetings, the WITSA World Cup (WWC) for scaleups from up to 20 countries, innovation exhibits, business presentations, workshops, and more. Designed to attract thousands of local and international delegates, the Congress offers a diverse agenda catering to various stakeholders. Participants will have the opportunity to explore advanced solutions, best practices, and the latest global ICT developments through interactive seminars and specialized panel discussions.
WCIT2024//DigiTec will survey as a global platform, that aims to:
- Showcase the technological potential of Armenia, and beyond, within the framework of the DigiTec Expo, which will serve as the main expo platform for WCIT2024/DigiTec;
- Strengthen the impact of information technology, raising awareness about innovations and the latest developments in AI;
- Represent Armenia on international platforms and position it as a new technological hub for the region;
- Promote investments and highlight the importance of ICT solutions in various regions and economies.
The conference agenda includes participants from a wide geographic area, with more than 2,000 international delegates expected to visit Armenia during the event.
The members of the Oxford Alumni Business Club of Armenia have united with the aim of applying their acquired knowledge in Armenia, implementing projects, and making university education opportunities more accessible for others. The DigiTec exhibition is an annual event organized by the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) since 2005, showcasing Armenia’s tech potential, innovation, and prospects. With up to 80,000 attendees each year, the exhibition serves as a platform to explore global technological trends. DigiTec continues to evolve. In 2023, UATE organized two simultaneous exhibitions, each featuring 120 companies and hosting over 100 speakers. By the end of 2023, participating companies facilitated over 100 million AMD in transactions during DigiTec2023.
DigiTec 2024 is scheduled to take place this year from October 4th to 6th at the “Meridian” Expo Center (Voskerichner 1, Yerevan).
