MONTEBELLO—During the Christmas season this year, the ARS Nairy Chapter of Montebello organized a toy drive for the children of our local Veterans and to assist the Montebello Police Chief in his own Annual Toy Drive.
Bins were placed at three locations – the Montebello Armenian Center, the ARS Nairy Day Care Center and the Armenian Mesrobian School. The response from the community was great and once again the ARS Nairy was happy to be able to serve its community.
On December 23, 2013, the children were invited to the Armenian Center to pick up their toys. The ARS Nairy members, community representatives and students from Mesrobian School were there to welcome them. It was rewarding for all to see the happy faces of the children. It was truly an atmosphere of love and joy.
From the Armenian Center, the ARS Nairy organizing Committee went to the Montebello Police Station to deliver the rest of the toys to Chief Kevin McClure. They were added to the toys to be distributed the next day at the Quiet Cannon to the needy children of the area. The Police Chief was thrilled to see so many toys added to his bins.
The ARS Nairy Chapter thanks all who donated the toys specially the students of our Mesrobian School. Because of the generosity of our supporters, we were able to make many families and children happy this year. We’ll meet again next year!
