BAKU (APA)–US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza, whose diplomatic mission ended, left Baku for Washington on Tuesday, Keith Bean, a spokesman at the US embassy reported.
Bryza, whose nomination was opposed by key members of the Senate Foreign Relations committee received a recent appointment by President Obama last year. Obama then renominated him for the position, but the Senate did not hold confirmation hearings, thus ending his nomination process.
US Charge d’Affaires Adam Sterling will hold office in Azerbaijan until the appointment of a new ambassador.
The Azeri Foreign Ministry said it hopes to strengthen ties with the US.
“Ambassador Matthew Bryza was a very strong, competent diplomat, who did much to develop the relations between the United States and Azerbaijan,”said a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev,
“Of course, we would like to see the development of these relations on the rise,” he added.
“Of course, it is unpleasant to see incomprehensible developments, when senators or congressmen become an instrument in the hands of the Armenian lobby, thereby harming US interests. We recently observed a similar pattern during the criminalization of the denial of the so-called ‘Armenian genocide’ in France, which certainly affected the image of that country,”added Abdullayev.
Another failed henchmen of the state department bites the dust. What a surprise…
There goes another…laa…whoooooo….zaa…heeerrrr!
An expression such as “….the so-called ‘Armenian genocide’ ” coming from FM Abdullayev, an official of the Azerbaijani State, is more than enough proof that Azeri leadership has in mind the complete extermination of Artsakh’s Armenian population – if they ever get the opportunity.
i agree, “so-called genocide” ? is this ever going to end?
Nice statement Abdullayev, how is a development incomprehensible if you go on to explain it right after calling it incomprehensible?
Lets see, whats harming US interests more: having a ambassador pulled out because of his huge amount of ties to the country he is being sent to (which usually means you have to be neutral) – or – having a concerned part of the population of said country point those circumstances out to their representatives? I fail to understand how they “become instruments”, but Abdullayev sure as hell didn’t understand the concept of representation in a democracy. Which comes as no surprise, considering the current state of Azerbaijan, which has been ruled by Aliyevs for 30 or so years now since the 70s.
Elman, aside from your natural wish to keep your puppet as a pseudo-ambassador, why would you bring in the Aghet into this too? I mean, you have to be an idiot to stumble in a political minefield like that for no apparent reason.
The clown is back in the USA.
a irresposible politico,on the take, appointed, over the Senate,by a president, who proved to be a disaster, in his job,and make the good ole U.S.A. a laughing stock of the world.
Bye
Another achievement for the Armenian Lobby. God Bless You and continue the good job. .
Sure thing, Abdulla. We don’t want anything to interfere with your plans of annihilating the last Christian stated in the region. Your plans to recreate the Islamic empire when you join Turkey and your dreams of staring another ottoman empire, a stated that would make Pakistan look more democratic. Even the Iranians think you’re nuts, that’s how fundamental you guys are. So please, spare us your rant on what the Armenian lobby is doing to ruin the image of a country or its relations. If someone wants to see a country with a ruined image, they just have to look at your human rights record. Turkey arrests people, including its own nobel peace prize author, for speaking out about the Armenian Genocide. And you Azeri’s are just upset because no matter how many virgins and millions you spent on keeping Matthew happy, Armenians still manage to show how disqualified and biased he was; last person we need in that region.
That’s what he deserves I guess ,he shouldn’t have stept in from the beginning
Thanks for all who worked on that.
so long ambassador esheg
You mean jackass.
According to Bryza and interview given to Azerbijani press …his job in Azerbaijani Kahnat was so easy!
I would say he wanted to say, he was bored in Baku ( no wonder Bryza was seen more as a good friend of ruling dictator clan there) . He should be sent as US envoy to Sudan or Somalia…
