LOS ANGELES–Congressman George Radanovich (R-CA) will be the recipient of the "ANC Man of the Year" award at the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region’s (ANCA-WR) Annual Banquet. The ANCA-WR Banquet is the most prestigious Armenian-American grassroots public affairs event held in the Western United States.
Congressman Radanovich was first elected to the US House of Representatives in 1994 and has been a strong advocate on issues important to the many Armenian-American voters in the 19th Congressional District–which includes Fresno and surrounding counties. He is the author of House Resolution 193–a bill which reaffirms support for the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and which specifically references the Armenian Genocide. The Congressman’s bill is currently waiting consideration on floor of the House of Representatives.
Congressman Radanovich presently serves as an Executive Committee Member of the National Republican Congressional Committee and as a Deputy Majority Whip.
The Annual Banquet will be held on November 9–at the Universal City Sheraton.
