YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenian defense minister Serge Sarkisian met on Wednesday with US Air Force General Charles F. Wald–who is in Armenia to become familiar with the country–and to consider future cooperation.
According to Armenia’s Defense Ministry–Sarkisian and Wald discussed the current state US-Armenia military cooperation–and development prospects. They also spoke about fighting international terrorism and regional issues. US Ambassador to Armenia John Ordway was also present.
General Wald is responsible for formulating policy to support air–space–intelligence–nuclear–counter proliferation–homeland security–weather and information operations; he reports to the Secretary of the Air Force and the Chief of Staff. General Wald also determines operational requiremen’s–capabilities and training necessary to support national security objectives and military strategy.
