
STUDIO CITY, Calif.—The Armenian National Committee of America San Fernando Valley East Chapter hosted an unprecedented community mixer last month for more than 50 business and community leaders of the eastern San Fernando Valley at the newly renovated Armenian Center in Studio City, California

“The purpose of tonight’s gathering is to provide leaders of the eastern San Fernando Valley community a unique opportunity to become better acquainted with each other and to discuss topics of interest to the local Armenian-American community”, stated Levon Baronian, on behalf of the ANCA-SFVE board.
He added, “We have with us tonight elected officials, leaders of educational, religious, and other organizations, and businesspersons ranging from attorneys to automotive repair shop owners. Regardless of our individual professions, we share a common commitment to the Armenian community of the eastern San Fernando Valley.”
Baronian also spoke about the goals and activities of the ANCA-SFVE which include increasing Armenian-American civic engagement, developing leadership and other skills among youth, and increasing voter registration and participation.

Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Krekorian expressed his gratitude to the ANCA-SFVE for hosting the event and presented its board a proclamation of recognition from the Los Angeles City Council.
Avo Ovayan, Chairman of the eastern San Fernando Valley ACF, which operates the local Armenian Center, assured the guests that the Armenian Cultural Foundation of the East Valley will continue to support all initiatives by the ANCA-SFVE to increase civic engagement and foster community building.
Lina Arslanian, principal of the local Merdinian Evangelical Armenian School, thanked the ANCA-SFVE stating “this was a great idea and we look forward to working more closely with each other in the future toward the realization of common goals.”
Elected officials Bob Blumenfield, California State Assemblymember and Adrin Nazarian California State Assemblymember-elect were also in attendance along with numerous community leaders such as Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian, Pastor and Seta Tarpinian, Board Chairperson of the North Hollywood Armenian Church.

Leaders of the Universal City North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Encino Neighborhood Council, Ararat Charter School, ARF-WR Central Committee, ANCA-WR, ARF “Papken Seuni” Committee, Homenetmen “Javakhk” Chapter, ARS “Meghri” Chapter, and Armenian Youth Federation also participated in the community mixer.
The ANCA-SFVE treated the participants to cocktails and a delicious variety of authentic Armenian food.
