YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The tender commission for the privatization of electricity distributing companies will approve the privatization schedule soon–Energy Commission Deputy Chairman Nikolay Grigorian announced in a Noyan Tapan interview. He went on to say that a specially drawn up tender package would be sent to the companies participating in the tender. The official explained that the price quoted by each of the competing companies will be considered to be a major criterion in the final selection–adding that the entire process would be completed by February 2001.
Grigorian highly evaluated the law passed by the National Assembly–which "thereby assumed the responsibility for the outcomes of the privatization." This approach–he believes–has ensured continued efforts in this direction–while otherwise the process would take up inappropriately much time.
