YEREVAN—Speaking at the funeral of the three crew members of Artsakh’s downed helicopter on Tuesday at the Yerablur Military Cemetery, Artsakh’s Defense Minister Movses Hakobyan said an investigation is underway into the downing of the helicopter by Azerbaijan and assured that it will provide answers to key questions.
The Commander stressed that Azerbaijan cannot restrict flights in the airspace of Artsakh. “Flights are and will be conducted in Artsakh,” he said.
Hakobyan noted that this incident will not affect the fighting spirit of the Armenian army. “The army is for war and this incident is an episode of war,” he said.
On Nov. 12, an unarmed Mi-24 helicopter belonging to the Artsakh Air Force was shot down by Azerbaijani armed forces while conducting an exercise flight. The area where the helicopter was shot down stayed under fire from Azerbaijani forces continuously following the downing of the aircraft. A special operation was eventually carried out to retrieve the remains of the slain pilots. The Commander of the staff was the Major Sergey Sahakyan, accompanied by Senior Lieutenant Sarkis Nazaryan and Lieutenant Azat Sahakyan.
It’s an unfair fight. Enemy armed with 4 billion dollars worth of sophisticated weapons and us militarily occupied by the same people selling to the enemy?? What a messed up situation we have gotten ourselves into!!
They can have 14 billion in weapons. That content of weaponry does not maketh an army. If it did they would have won the war in 1994 and they would have attacked Artsakh many times over since then. The only reason they can’t is because of the superiority of the Armenian army, due in large part to our fighting spirit and the sophisticated precision weaponry which has been provided free of charge by the Russian state.
It is 100 years that Armenia are waiting help from the West
*** peace be with the brave Armenian lions.!!!!
Go get them. Get these bastards. Long live Armenia and Artsakh.
Nothing of this kind can ever crush the fighting spirit of the Armenian Army. God Bless Them.
Life is unfair. We want to keep our identity and our lands, we have to fight, not winge , cry or dirge. 4 billion spent on arms and all what they can achieve is a helicopter, unarmed helicopter shot down. Let them keep spending their petro dollars, let them spend it with Russia, indirectly they are helping Armenia since Russia is Armenia’s supplier of war materiel.
