YEREVAN (Yerkir)–Armenian director Vardan Ovanissyan’s film "A Story of People War and Peace" shot in Karabakh with the assistance of BBC, placed in the top three at an international documentary film festival in Amsterdam. Only 300 films from about 3000 were chosen as finalists, Vardan Ovanissyan told a PanArmenian.net reporter. "It is a very prestigious and important documentary film festival, and the fact that the Armenian film ‘A Story of People War and Peace’ is one of the top three contenders speaks volumes about the film and the topic. During the screening of the film the Azeri community in Holland tried to organize protests and the Azeri Ambassador to the Low Countries sent a protest note to the organizers of the festival, but they could not do anything," added Ovanissyan. Inge Drost, the Federation of Armenian Organizations in Netherlands press officer said that Azeri actions and statemen’s were prompted and led by Turkey.
