YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Syunik movie production studio of Armenia will soon begin filming "The Armenian Genocide." Studio Director Khachik Asrian said the film is not only a portrayal of the suffering of the Armenian people–but also a basis for universal humanitarian principles.
The film’s screenplay is written by Berge Zeytouniants–and is being produced by Vigen Chaldranian. The movie will be shot on location in Syunik–Artsakh–Vayots Dzor–and the deserts of Der Zor. Sos Sargsian has been chosen for the role of the main character. Actors from abroad have also been invited to take part in the film.
A $1.5 million budget has been allocated for the movie.
