Sisters Inga & Anush Arshakyans will represent Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song “Jan Jan,” performed in English and Armenian.
the duo defeated twenty other competitors in the Armenian national final and will defend the Armenian tri-color in the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow.
Twenty-one songs were presented in the national final, with the winner being picked by a combination of SMS voting and an expert jury.
Armenia has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest three times since 2006 and so far, all Armenian entries have been made it to the contest’s finals. The best placing to date has was achieved by Sirusho in 2008, when she came in 4th place with her song “Qele Qele”.
