YEREVAN (IRNA)—Iran’s Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, who was in Armenia for an official visit, said Wednesday touted what he termed “bright prospects” for furthering Armenia-Iran ties.
In a meeting with the Armenian Energy Minister Armen Movsesyan, he added that Iran’s ties with the neighboring states, especially Armenia, are strategic.
“Iran is ready to promote its economic and commercial exchanges with the brother and friend country to the highest level,” he noted.
Referring to the ancient and historic Iran-Armenia ties and cordial relations between the two nations, he called for further promoting mutual cooperation.
Exchange of visits between the officials of the two states will help deepen bilateral ties, he said, noting that expansion of Iran-Armenia ties will benefit the entire region, in addition to the two countries.
“Iran considers no limit for promoting ties with Armenia,” he said.
Movsesyan, for his part, referred to Iran’s role in the region and appreciated Iranian support for the Caucasian states in hard times.
Describing Iran’s role in the region as undeniable and significant, he said that promoting bilateral relations will benefit both nations.
Putting the current rate of trade and commerce between the two states at over $300 million, Movsesyan hoped that the rate of exchanges will hit one billion dollars within the next two years.
The relations with Iran will turn out to be absolutely crucial to our survival. We need to pay attention and not screw this up.
Stop buying Turkish goods. Stop supporting Turkish economy. Turkey out of Armenian lands.
