YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–As of Jan. 1–1997–$12.9 million has been spent on the Irrigation Rehabilitation Program–according to Gagik Matevossian–deputy director of the program.
The IRP system in Armenia is being funded by loans from the International Development Association–as well as the International Fund for Agricultural Development. The implementation of this program started in June 1995.
One of the problems impeding the implementation of this program is the remaining $230,000 debt from 1995.
The ongoing work on the program is regularly checked by organizations and creditors such as the World Bank and IFAD.
