Tenth anniversary celebrations of the national liberation struggle of Karabakh were met with widespread positive response by the community.
Specifically–we would like to point out the efforts of those who organized the walkathon and day-long festival which took place Sunday–March 1.
Many took part in the walkathon–including a large representation from Armenian schools–youth organizations–children and parents–all in all–some 2,500 people–and every individual maintained order during the event–which concluded at Verdugo Park in Glendale–where 4000 people had already congregated and were enjoying toasting in celebrations to mark the day’s event.
By day’s end–more than 6,000 people had participated in the cultural event–which featured choirs from local Armenian schools–dance ensembles and other cultural groups.
With that–the Steering Committee of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the national liberation struggle of Karabakh would like to thank all those who made this event a reality–and also the Armenian community as a whole–which helped make the event a success.
We would also like to thank all the local organizations which participated in the event–especially the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western Region Central Committee–whose assistance was paramount in organizing the event.
In line with recent events–there will be an art exhibition and sale organized by Asbarez Armenian Daily newspaper and sponsored by the Hamazkayin Regional Executive benefiting the Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs of Karabakh.
