STEPANAKERT (News.am) — Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan, on Friday attended the meeting of the Artsakh Defense Army Military Council, where the results of 2015 were summed up and the 2016 action plans was discussed.
In his remarks, the President touched upon the process of army-building, and outlined the accomplishments and the challenges.
He said the activities carried out in 2015 were satisfactory.
Sahakyan noted that the geopolitical situation in the region and the world is complicated and tense, and this generated new strategic tasks.
The President highlighted that the Karabakh Defense Army has always been and will remain the most important patron of independence, security and natural development of the Artsakh Republic, fulfilling its high mission with the utmost responsibility under any condition.
In addition, Sahakyan gave specific instructions to Artakh’s Defense Minister and the Supreme Command unit of the Defense Army, towards properly addressing the challenges of the Armed Forces.
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Yuri Khachaturov, and several other officials also participated in the consultation.
