YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Arkady Ghoukassian received a letter Saturday from the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Bruno Haller who invited a delegation from Karabakh to attend a PACE Committee on Political issues meeting in Strasbourg–France next month.
In the letter–Haller asked Ghoukassian to lead the delegation to Strasbourg to participate in hearings–scheduled for November 3–on Karabakh conflict resolution.
The letter stated that the exchange of views would enable the parties to the conflict to present their positions and promote dialogue.
A PACE delegation was on a two-day visit in Karabakh this June and suggested that a Karabakh delegation participate in the hearings of the Karabakh problem to be held.
On September 3–at a conference in Ljubljana the PACE Committee on Political Issues considered the results of the Council of Europe’s delegation visit to the Caucasus and made a decision that hearings attended by representatives from Armenia–Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh should be held in November.
